October Ipsy Bag 2014

I am very sorry that I haven't posted in almost a month! I can't believe it has been that long. It was spirit week at my school recently and I was helping with the planning of the pep rally and the homecoming dance. I had a lot of fun, but things got very busy. Anyway, I'm back now! I'm so happy about my Ipsy bag this month and I can't wait to share it with you!

The theme of this month's bag is Beauty Candy. I don't exactly see that theme other than the paper that they give you. However, I did notice that most of the products are blue or cool colors. I think this makes it great for October.

The bag itself is a really gorgeous teal color. It has a square quilted pattern and is shaped like most of their other bags. Although the bag was not big enough to fit all of the products, I guess that's a good thing because almost the samples this month good sized.

The first thing I saw when I opened the package was a protein BB cream from the brand Ecru. This is a BB cream for your hair. I had never tried a product like this before, but I absolutely love it. My hair was starting to look awful because of the weather. It was so frizzy and annoying. This product really smooths out my hair and leaves it soft and untangled the whole time I'm at school. I just put a small amount into the ends of my hair when it's damp, then I blow dry it upside down. Also, this product smells great so it's not annoying to put in my hair and have it their all day.

When I first opened the actual bag, I found a body butter from Ayres. I'm not the biggest fan of body butters that I get from this service, as I already use products that I like and don't really need new ones. When I tried this one, it moisturized my skin pretty well, but I don't really enjoy the smell of it. The product says it smells like jasmine and rosemary, but I don't get that scent from it. I'm not exactly sure what it smells like, but I don't think I will use it very often because of the scent.

Next, I received cleansing wipes from the brand Skyn. I have tried this brand before and I like the products that I have tried. I didn't actually try these, as I usually save makeup wipes for when I travel. I really like the writing on their packaging. It's a paragraph that gives you uses for the wipes that I think everyone can relate too.

I received a small lip gloss from Starlooks in the color Guilty Pleasure. I sort of wish it was bigger, but I do like the color. I wore this the other day to go out to dinner and I liked how it looked with my fair skin. It's pretty close to my natural lip color so I really like the natural look it gives me. I'll be paring this with some dramatic fall eye shadow looks.

I'm saving my favorite thing that I got for last. This is a gorgeous baked mineral eye shadow from Jesse's Girl in the color Esmeralda. At first, I wasn't sure about the color because of how it looks in the package, but it is a beautiful silvery brown color. I've started wearing this color every day with dark brown eye shadow in the crease. My only complaint is that the package is SO hard to open. I've started using the tweezers that I use for my eyebrows to open it because I really want to use it. I've been applying it with the brush that I got last month.

I swatched both the lip gloss and the eye shadow on the back of my hand.

I hope you guys enjoyed seeing my October Ipsy bag! I recently purchased some Too Faced Christmas products and the Benefit advent calendar, which I'm very excited to post about. You'll have to wait until Christmas though! I also purchased so Halloween goodies from Lush that I'm currently trying out, so I'll share those with you as well. I hope you're having a great day and I will talk to you as soon as I can!
